When Kali ( an organic tampon company) was founded, the idea of being socially conscious was just as important as providing an organic product.
Enter Girl Up. From the moment we started the conversation of working with them, they immediately saw the potential of the global impact we could have together.
Girl Up, the United Nations Foundation’s adolescent girl empowerment campaign, is led by a community of half a million passionate advocates who raise funds and awareness to help the hardest to reach girls living in places where it is hardest to be a girl. The campaign knows that girls are the most powerful force for change, and when they’re educated, healthy, safe, and counted, they can transform their communities.
Since its launch in 2010, the campaign has funded UN programs that promote the health, safety, education, and leadership of girls in developing countries. Their youth leaders, representing more than 1,200 Girl Up Clubs in 66 countries, stand up, speak up, and rise up to support the hardest to reach girls living in places where it is hardest to be a girl.
Each month we’ll be including information about how Kali and Girl Up are working together to empower girls in Guatemala, Ethiopia, Liberia, Malawi, and India.
AND we’ll be speaking at their Teen Advisor summit in our backyard Miami, FL this January, so look out for updates and photos from what promises to be an amazing weekend.
