Everyone who knows me knows I hate the cold. Like, literally hate it from the bottom of my heart. I can’t function properly, I cannot focus on anything else but the feeling of cold air circulating my body. If you’re like me, thank you for understanding 😀

Nevertheless…there is something I do enjoy doing on a gloomy, cold day, and that is – getting cozy with bae under a warm blanket, making myself a superfood latte, and Netflixing the night away. If only….I could do it all the time during the day too! I’ve made my share of different magical concoctions throughout the years, and here’s my top list of the Best Superfood Lattes for Fall!

Just to preface it all, I make my own dairy free milk, and I used to do it the old fashioned soak-blend-squeeze-through-cheesecloth-way, but I’ve recently discovered something really cool called the Almond Cow, and it saved my life! Pumpkin Spice & Cardamom Nice

I gotta start with the obvious – pumpkin spice 🙂 The combination of macadamia & cashew milk makes this one SO creamy, and I’ve tried all sorts of pairings, so trust me on this one! In a cup combine cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg & cloves (your regular pumpkin spice), and add some cardamom to the mix! Cardamom is amazing for your digestive system, and it helps with nausea, bloating, gas, constipation, heartburn… It also promotes elimination of waste through the kidneys, making it a mild diuretic. In Ayurveda, cardamom is actually used to combat anxiety & depression, so I say sprinkle that in your latte whenever the weather gets grey & monotone. Cardamom makes the perfect addition to the pumpkin spice combo, as all of the spices work together on lowering stress levels & reducing inflammation, increasing serotonin & dopamine, and even act as aphrodisiacs! Do we need more reason to include them in our daily lives? I don’t think so 😉 To finish it off, I love adding some vanilla extract & honey to my latte, but that’s completely optional!

Chocolate-Reishi Immortality Potion

Ever since I discovered Four Sigmatic’s Chill with Reishi Chocolate mix, I’ve been the biggest fan! Reishi, also known as the King of mushrooms is an incredible #supermushroom I’ve actually written so much about in my Power of Medicinal Mushrooms Kali article. Often thought to be THE key to immortality, this magical ancient ‘shroom usually has a very distinct flavor, and when you’re not used to it, can actually deter you from using it in your kitchen. Cacao, one of the richest antioxidant foods in the world, masks the reishi taste completely, and makes it the perfect longevity potion you have ever tasted! The Four Sigmatic mix has cinnamon, cardamom, stevia & coconut sugar added to the blend, but I love recreating mine with some honey & sometimes even adding some chilli to get that spicy mayan kick (especially if I’m feeling a bit under the weather)! The perfect non-dairy milk for this one is coconut or almond, as the flavors aren’t too strong, and let you really get that chocolate craving satisfied.

Vanilla Maca Hormone Booster

Ok ladies, listen up! Maca is THE key to hormonal balance. She stimulates the hypothalamus and pituitary glands which are the “master glands” of the body, and brings your system into homeostasis. This cruciferous plant (I know, what??) is native to Peru, and it was traditionally used to enhance fertility and sex drive. Since its taste is a bit nutty/caramely, I love mixing it up with hazelnut or hazelnut/cashew milk and adding some honey, vanilla & anise to boost my metabolism as well!

Extra tip: Add a sprinkle of Moon Juice’s Sex Dust as its mission is perfect for this latte 😉

Pink Rose Love Latte

Ahhh love is in the fall air 🙂 Ever since I first laid eyes on a pink latte back in Singapore in 2013, I was obsessed. Like with most women, pink is one of those colors that makes my heart skip a bit, and when I heard that the color comes from beetroot, I needed to give it a try. Packed with potassium & iron, beetroot regulates blood pressure, and also acts as a liver cleanser, getting rid of all the toxins & metals. You can make your own beetroot juice, or you can buy it premade (beetroot powder is also a great option), add some dairy free milk of choice (my dialogue would be for coconut or rice milk as they won’t change the flavor as much) and hold off the sweetener before you try it. Some beets are simply sweeter than the other, and if it ends up being too sweet, it may be hard to drink 🙂 I love adding some rose essential oil to the mix, or a dropper of Sakara Life Beauty water concentrates (with rose and 72 trace minerals!) as rose works wonders for your skin & purifies the blood!

Matcha Pistachio for Longevity

The Japanese are known for a lot of things, but one of them is the fact that they have the majority of the “oldest people on the world”. Coincidence? I think not! Matcha green tea is super rich in antioxidants called catechins, which have incredible cancer-fighting properties! This form of antioxidants is incredibly potent, as we ingest the whole matcha leaf, not just the brewed water. I love pairing it up with coconut milk, but also with pistachio milk! Before I got the Almond Cow machine, I never thought I’d be trying out making pistachio milk, but since the device makes it so darn easy, I said, why not, and was SO surprised to find this combo INCREDIBLE! The pistachio adds such an amazing flavor, so you get the feeling of drinking pistachio ice cream. I don’t know how else to describe it without sounding weird sooo… Just try it, ok? Oh, and add some honey to this one too 🙂
