We all have wondered if it is possible to get pregnant right before our period, on our period, and right after our period. Believe it or not, it’s not extremely easy to get pregnant. The right things need to happen and timing needs to be pretty perfect for conception to occur.

Can you get pregnant right before your period?

It is very unlikely for you to get pregnant right before your period. It’s probably the safest time to have sex without conceiving. On average, women who have regular cycles between day 11 and 21. A regular cycle is about 28 to 30 days. That egg is only fertile for 12 to 24 hours. The further away you are from ovulation, the safer you are from getting pregnant. However, to be 100% safe, it’s still smarter to use protection.

Can you get pregnant on your period?

The probability is low that you would get pregnant on your period. Ovulation is usually several days away while you are on your period. However, it is not impossible. If you have a shorter than average cycle (like every 21 to 24 days), there is a possibility of getting pregnant on your period. Sperm can live inside you up to 5 days, which could lead to conception with your early ovulation.

Can you get pregnant right after your period?

Absolutely! Time to use protection for sure if you are not trying to get pregnant. Right after your period, you are the most fertile. This is usually between day 11 and 21. Chances of pregnancy increase every day after your period stops.

Overall, it’s important to use protection throughout your cycle if you don’t want to get pregnant. It’s better to be safe than sorry. You can track your ovulation to better guess when you are fertile each month to avoid pregnancy. However, it’s still not 100% accurate or 100% safe.
